We wanted to let our community know that we have been monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) concerns very closely along with the Government of Canada, Alberta Gymnastics Federation, Gymnastics Canada, Athletics Canada and other organizations. With respect to the recent announcement of Eastlink Centre and the Coca Cola Centre closing based on the recommendation of venues exceeding 250 person gatherings be closed, we will be reviewing our own venue and determine additional steps that may be necessary (although we fall below that 250 margin) throughout the day (Friday).

Please keep an eye on our social media and watch your inbox for an update tomorrow but for now we will be open Friday morning and will be sending out updates throughout the day.

With respect to Grande Prairie Gymnastics and our facility, we have been taking the following actions all week;
o Daily disinfecting of surfaces, especially door handles, railings and mats, this is in addition to our professional cleaning services that supports the facility daily.
o Having our staff follow the safe hand hygiene process outlined by WHO (20 second rule).
o Asking our staff to stay home if they are not feeling well.

While the risk of contracting (COVID-19) remains low in Canada, you are encouraged to take the same usual precautionary measures associated with the cold and flu season.

Remember, clean your hands often, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Lastly, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
